Job Title: Bar Manager
Type: Full-Time
The Quadrant is a cosy, independent bar in the heart of Clifton, known for our welcoming atmosphere, carefully curated drinks, and a wine menu that’s all about quality. Our team are passionate about creating a great experience for our customers, we have many regulars and therefore a strong community feel within the pub. We are a well-established business looking for a dedicated and motivated Bar Manager to join our team, help us deliver outstanding service, and become a part of the Quadrant family!
Role Overview:
As the Bar Manager, you’ll play a main role in helping run the day-to-day operations of our bar. You’ll work closely with the assistant manager and the rest of the team to ensure everything runs smoothly. From managing staff and rotas, to ordering stock and making sure our customers have the best possible experience, you'll be a big part of what makes our bar special.
Key Responsibilities:
· Writing weekly rotas, adjusting according to holiday requests and submitting hours weekly to payroll
· Completing weekly banking summary and ensuring cash ups make sense.
· Assist in the day-to-day management of the bar, including opening and closing shifts.
· Work closely with the assistant manager and director for hiring and managing staff.
· Lead and motivate a small team of bartenders and front-of-house staff.
· Ensure excellent customer service, being a voice of authority when required to handle any customer queries or concerns.
· Keep an eye out for gaps in staff training, and development.
· Assisting director to plan staff parties.
· Writing core menus and special seasonal menus, working with the director on product prices.
· Reporting to the director on any maintenance issues and prioritising them as appropriate.
· Ensure health and safety, licensing, and hygiene standards are met.
· Support in creating and executing events or promotions to increase footfall and customer engagement.
Skills & Experience:
· Previous experience in bar or hospitality management (minimum 1-2 years)
· Basic wine knowledge (we can train you fully!)
· Strong leadership and communication skills- a people person!
· Confidence in conflict management.
· A passion for good drinks, great service, and creating a positive, lively atmosphere.
· A solid understanding of bar operations and stock management.
· Comfortable with dealing with basic numbers and spreadsheets for banking duties.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· A customer-focused attitude and an ability to solve problems quickly.
· Knowledge of health and safety and licensing laws.
